Page design samples

As Long Beach Register Editorial Page Editor and a senior editor for the O.C. Register's Opinion Department, Betty used news judgment and understanding of the Register's audience to plan and execute pages from inception to publication. She solicited text from experts, harvested submissions for opeds and letters from mailboxes and prepared the text she chose for publication. Editing to fit the page space, she collaborated with editorial writers to edit and revise editorials. As a page designer she chose graphics, cartoons, photos, determined page elements and content. She wrote page text that included headlines, captions and textual notes. See the page examples below.
